East Cheshire Hospice is set to benefit from £300 as it was named as the first recipient of the Grosvenor Centre’s 2017 Charity Fund.
Throughout the year, the centre will be donating money to three different charities chosen by staff at the centre, members of the public and retailers in the Grosvenor Centre. Ed Kennedy, Grosvenor Centre Manager, said he was delighted that East Cheshire Hospice had been chosen by the team.
“We’ve got a great, long-standing relationship with East Cheshire Hospice and I’m thrilled that they’ve been selected as the first charity to benefit,” said Ed. “We know how important charity is to the people of Macclesfield and as we’re a key part of the community we wanted to give back.
“East Cheshire Hospice is a vitally important organisation which does extremely important work with people that need it the most in Macclesfield and further afield. Every amount helps and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to support them with our charity fund.”
Jo Boyd, Fundraising Co-ordinator at East Cheshire Hospice said: “On behalf of everyone at East Cheshire Hospice, I would like to say a big thank you to the Grosvenor Centre for their recent donation of £300. We are delighted to be the first charity to benefit from the Centre’s 2017 Charity Fund and are very grateful for their support.
“East Cheshire Hospice provides end of life care to those in our community who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The Hospice is a truly inspiring place, somewhere where life is celebrated. We aim to always put our patients, their families and carers at the centre of everything we do.
“Through our 15-bed in-patient unit and our day care and outpatient facilities last year we supported over 8,000 people. As a charity, we provide all of our services free to those in our community who need them. However, in order to offer these specialist services, we have to raise over £7,500 every single day, and so every donation really will make a difference.”
The Grosvenor Centre 2017 Charity Fund will be donating to three different worthy causes throughout the year. In June members of the public will be able to nominate who they think should be the second charity to benefit from the fund via the centre’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/GrosvenorCentreMacclesfield
