Currently located near to Greggs and Bodycare in the Macclesfield shopping destination, the new location in next to Timpsons and across from Brighthouse will be more than double the size of the current store. As well as providing high quality eye care alongside a range of glasses and contact lenses, the new store will also feature hearing checks, making it a one-stop-shop for eyes and ears in the town centre.
Grosvenor Centre Manager, Ed Kennedy, said he was delighted that Specsavers would be moving to the bigger brand-new store in the near future. “Specsavers is a popular shop in the centre and it’s fantastic that they’ll be up-sizing,” said Ed. “I’m thrilled that as well as providing high quality eye care, the new store will offer hearing care and create a number of new jobs.
“In 2018 we welcomed TK Maxx to the Grosvenor Centre and the store has proven a real hit with shoppers. Specsavers moving to a new, larger space shows further confidence in not just the centre but Macclesfield from big name, national brands.
“Work is now underway on the new unit, and Specsavers will continue to trade as normal while they take place. Everyone at the centre is looking forward to the new store opening in the not-too-distant future.”
Specsavers Optometrist Director, Peter Scott, said: “This expansion is a proud milestone for our team, and has only been made possible by the loyal support of the Macclesfield community.  We are hugely excited about this new development, and it represents our commitment to new and existing customers in the town and providing more accessible services than ever before.”
