The hugely popular Shop for Schools initiative is returning to the Grosvenor Centre from 1 October, with five schools in with the chance of winning a whopping £1,000.
Now in its third year, 2016 is set to be bigger than ever as the prize total has more than doubled from £400 to £1,000. The winnings can be spent on anything for the school, from gym equipment and computers to training courses and new books.
For every £10 spent at participating stores in the mall, Grosvenor Centre shoppers will be given tokens that are then used to vote for their school of choice in the voting box, located near Don Millers bakery.
Ed Kennedy, Grosvenor Centre Manager, said he was looking forward to the return of the campaign to the centre. “This year Shop for Schools is set to be more popular than it has ever been and our best one yet,” said Ed. “We’ve had a great response from schools in the area and we know that our shoppers will really get involved to help their favourite.
“This year we’ve more than doubled the prize from £400 to £1,000 giving visitors to the centre even more reason to take part and support our fantastic local schools. Last year’s winners, Puss Bank Primary School, spent their prize money on huge range of books for their in-school library.”
The 2016 scheme will run from Saturday 1 October to Monday 31 October, giving shoppers plenty of time to take part.  “Shops for Schools is a really important part of the year for us as it enables us to give something back to the youngsters in the Macclesfield community,” said Ed. “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to raise the prize total to £1,000 and I’m sure that this year is going to prove more popular than ever.”
