Puss Bank won the £1,000 prize after finishing the campaign with more votes than any other school taking part. It’s the second consecutive year that Puss Bank has won the competition and they will now be able to spend their winnings on a whole range of items that will benefit pupils across the school.
“This has been a fantastic year for Shop for Schools,” said Ed Kennedy, Grosvenor Centre Manager. “This year we more than doubled the prize total from £400 to £1,000 and the response from shoppers has been great. I’d like to say ‘congratulations’ to Puss Bank School & Nursery on their win.”
Under the scheme, shoppers received a token for every £10 spent in participating retailers. They were then able to put the token into the voting box of the school of their choosing, located near the Don Millers bakery.
Kathy Nichol, headteacher at Puss Bank, said everyone at the school was thrilled to have won the prize. “I am delighted that so many people have supported Puss Bank School & Nursery in the Grosvenor Centre Shop for Schools campaign again,” said Kathy.  “I’d like to thank everyone who voted for us. We’ve already started planning what we can spend the winnings on, it will really make a difference to our pupils.”
