Good causes from across the region, including Christies, the Salvation Army, The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and more all spent time in the town’s shopping centre during the 12 months, raising vital funds and interacting with shoppers.
Grosvenor Centre Manager, Ed Kennedy, said he was thrilled that so much had been donated during the year. “As a key part of the Macclesfield community, we believe in supporting charities and good causes whenever possible,” said Ed, “and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to help eight different organisations with all-important fund raising throughout the course of 2018.”
The sense of community in the centre wasn’t limited to charitable donations. In the spring, the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle returned for its annual blood pressure checks event and in December the centre was filled with the sounds of Christmas, as children from Ash Grove performed for festive shoppers.
“Our work across the community is a vital part of who we are at the Grosvenor Centre and I’m pleased that as well as providing space for charities to collect and engage with our shoppers, we’re able to support groups and organisations from across Macclesfield. We’re very much looking forward to that continuing throughout 2019.”
